The search default options are the same of the PRH website.
PRH supports the following search algorithm: “Starts with" and "Contains word". Examples:
"Nokia" Search gives several results like Cafe Nokia Oy and Nokia Oyj,"upm" gives several results like UPM-Kymmene Oyj and UPM Raflatac Oy e.g. "Simona" gives three results Antikvariat Simona, Simona Ky, Tmi Simona BeautyIf the company name starts with a legal form (e.g. Oy, Oyj, Ab, Ky, Osk, Osuuskunta, Tmi, Toiminimi, Avoin yhtiö, Sivuliike), the customer should search the company without the form, i.e. Oy Registor Ab -> search only by "Registor".
In the EBR Company Search it is only possible to search active companies from the Finnish Trade Register database. If a company has terminated its business, a search by registration number (Business Id) can be performed. The search result shows whether the name by which the search was conducted is a company name, a parallel company name (a translation into English, German or other language), an auxiliary company name (name under which the company carries on some part of its business) or a translation of the auxiliary company name. A parallel company name is marked with *R after the company name, an auxiliary company name is marked with *A, and a translation of the auxiliary company name is marked with *AR. If the company name is long (over 87 characters) it is truncated and marked with three dots (...).
The Finnish system supports the following wildcard: “*” at the end of a word.
Example: "fiat* returns results like “Fiatra Oy”.
